Studying In USA
Most students (and parents) of the world want to have their higher studies in USA. This is the country where talented people survive with out any difficulties. Although the tution fee may be little more than of your country.A four year course may cost you US$ 32,000. In the first year you may work in the University only. There are Scolarships too available if you are a top level student in All subjects in your country and in SAT or TOFEL too you must have good score. Also you may work in the Campus max of 20 hours per week in the first year, this may help you in your small expenses, but not enough for Tution or Boarding. To get addmission, VISA you must Have good Financial support and Engilsh Language Score.In USA there are short courses and Full courses available up to masters degrees and doctoral degrees. If you Don't have relatives take care to arrange for your accomodation before your arrival, as there are hotel charges are very high. Although there are youth hostels like YMCA available, but can't guarntee you of accomodation on the arrival day.
1. You must apply for the education visa, from your own country. (If you are a Sri lankan you must apply from Colombo, Sri lanka.)
2. Make ready your bank statements Affidavit of Support from your sponsor, if have any sponsor, or from your parents. With out this the schools won't issue Form I-20 or Form DS-2019, as per the type of program you are accepted for. (You have to pay SEVP, SEVIS & SEVIS I-901 Fee)
3. Find a suitable College, University or Education institute and enroll to get the I-20 form or Form DS-2019. Do your search early and contact them as it will nearly take one year to obtain a Visa. Students who are outside the United States must have INS Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 in order to obtain the visa to enter the U.S. and attend school.
4. Contact your School and get your Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 from the school once you are accepted as a student.
5. Along with this apply for an interview for the American Student visa.
6. At the interview you must have to proof that you have enrolled in a fulltime course, Hve enoufgh fund to continue the education, and you must proof that you have very good ties with your home country and will return there after the education.
Also at the interview they want to see the original of Form I-20 or Form DS-2019, Certificates to proof that you are a seriously studying student in the past, your available financial report, your sponsor's financial plans and reasons for selecting the school and your future plans.

You can travel with your visa 30 days or less to your course starting date.

Furthere more male applicants between 18 and 45 years old require Form DS-157. Certain job and student applicants also require form DS-158.
USA Student Visa Fee proposed for increase.
Students who are going to take studies in USA may have to pay a new increased fee from this year. The Department of Homeland Security has proposed an increase of US $100 for the visa for International students who wish to study in USA. The current fee is US$ 100 and may go to US$ 200 if the proposed increase is accepted. The U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Services is expected to approve and implement it around October 2008.
The extra cost may to support the tracking international students which includes monitoring students enrollment, their jobs and traveling in and out of the country.
