New USA Non-Immigrant Visa Fee.
USA Non-iimmigrant visa application fee will be US$ 131.00 from 01/01/2008, this was announced by The US State Department. This also applies to boarder crossing cards issued to certain applicants in Mexico. The fee increase from $ 100.00 to $ 131.00 was due to recover the cost arising from the security and other enhancements, according to the announcement issued by the State Department.
Those visas processed before 1st of january 2007 need not to pay the extra fee difference, but if applied before 1/1/2008 and the visa is processed after 1/1/208 must pay the price difference of the visa fee that is 31 US$.

Those who are applying for the non-immigrant visa in Colombo Sri lanka can pay the application fee in US$ or in local currency according to the exchange rate. From 01/01/2008 visa fee in local currency will be Rs. 13,100.
